Properties: it is white or white-off crystalline powder, bitter, odorless or almost odorless, and moisture absorptive. It is soluble in anhydrous alcohol at 1: 2.5, difficult soluble in acetone, not soluble in chloroform and ethyl ether. PH value of 1% liquor is 3-4.5. It is less bitter than hydrochloride. When PH is 3.5-6.5, the solution is very stable. It is antibiotics, used in infections caused by anaerobic bacteria.
